Ahman Pategi University (APU) is one of Nigeria’s newest private universities. It is in Patigi, Kwara State. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) authorized it as one of twenty new private institutions in February 2021. The National Universities Commission (NUC) gave the institution official permission to operate on April 8, 2021.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, proclaimed this milestone, and the NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, confirmed it.

Hon. Aliyu Bahago Ahman-Pategi started the institution and named it after his father, Ahman Pategi, who was a recognized statesman and Nigeria’s first Minister of Agriculture and Health.
